My name is Nickie and I’m a mum to 4 fantastic kids. I live in a beautiful spot in Devon and love spending time at the beach.
When Lockdown started I was completely at a loss as I couldn’t do the job I usually do, so instead of stressing about what I couldn’t do, I decided to think about what I could do. I’ve always enjoyed making things so thought I would give candle making a go. It was a disaster!! I couldn’t get the wicks right, the wax or the fragrance so I decided to postpone them for a while. I found a passion for making wax melts. I researched all the information I could find and as time went on I found a real love of working with wax. And that’s how Niknax By Nickie started.
I have now added to my list of creations in the line of Jesmonite and resin.
Jesmonite is an eco-friendly, resin based material with the smoothness of stone and the durability of concrete. The colour pigments are used to make marble patterns and Jesmonite chips make a fantastic terrazzo design. Each piece is unique due to the pouring process used. And the great thing with Jesmonite is its set in 30 minutes!!
I love working with resin too – the colours are amazing and I love the versatility of resin. From jewellery to keyrings, its a great material to work with. I use an eco-friendly resin and sustainable mica powders.
My husband Mark, who is my right hand man and my tech guy is always on hand for when I press the wrong buttons on the laptop. I would really be lost without him!!
